Key Facts:

  • Goal Year: 2030 – That’s when we want to see zero deaths on our roads.
  • Federal Grant: Opa-locka got $200,000 in 2022 to make this plan.
  • Timeline: We started in April 2024 and will keep working until 2030 and beyond.

What Will Happen?

  • July 2024: Vision Zero starts officially
  • August 2024: We’ll make a “Safety Toolkit” to help improve our streets
  • October 2024: We’ll finish mapping our “High Injury Network” – the most dangerous roads
  • November 2024: City leaders will approve the full safety plan
