Did you know Opa-locka is working to make our streets safer? It’s true! Our city has a big goal: zero traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030. This plan is called “Vision Zero.”

- Goal Year: 2030 – That’s when we want to see zero deaths on our roads.
- Federal Grant: Opa-locka got $200,000 in 2022 to make this plan.
- Timeline: We started in April 2024 and will keep working until 2030 and beyond.
What Will Happen?
- July 2024: Vision Zero starts officially
- August 2024: We’ll make a “Safety Toolkit” to help improve our streets
- October 2024: We’ll finish mapping our “High Injury Network” – the most dangerous roads
- November 2024: City leaders will approve the full safety plan
