The City of Opa-locka has embarked on a bold,
new journey to make our streets safer for all
users. Those include people of all ages and
abilities, regardless of whether they are traveling
as drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists or public
transportation riders. The City has set a Vision
Zero goal of eliminating deaths and serious
injuries on our roads by 2030.
To achieve the goal, the City is developing a
Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP),
funded by a SS4A Grant. The framework will
identify safety issues and specific actions that can
be implemented to improve safety for people
traveling by any mode throughout the City.
Vision Zero recognizes that traffic deaths and
injuries are preventable and aims to create safer
streets through a combination of engineering,
education, enforcement, and community
engagement measures.
Public input is important to the development of
the plan. There are many ways for you to
participate!
