Vision Zero Action Plan being presented at the event

Project Launch

The City of Boca Raton kicked off its Vision Zero initiative on October 24, bringing together city staff, consultants, DDEC and community members to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries. The 90-minute evening session marked the start of a safety-focused transportation planning effort funded by the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program.

The project team, led by Nathan George, AICP and Naresh Machavarapu, PE, RSP2I, outlined how the Vision Zero Action Plan will use this data to identify priority areas and effective countermeasures. Brad Davis from Kimley-Horn presented the technical approach, emphasizing how crash patterns will inform specific safety improvements, Uyen Dang DDEC also participated in developing the initiative and Kimley-Horn: Brad Davis, Max DiStefano, Shaleese Pitterson EXP: Leny Huaman and team.

The City invites residents to complete the Vision Zero survey, available on the project website. Follow-up meetings will present draft recommendations and gather additional community feedback.
